Ostara/Vernal Equinox Celebration
Ostara (Vernal Equinox) Celebration and labyrinth Walk
Friday, 21st March. 19.00-21.00 at Islington.
For thousands of years, people have celebrated the arrival of spring and nature’s rebirth at the Vernal Equinox – the time when the hours of light and darkness at last come into balance. This is also time of broader balance, as masculine and feminine and positive and negative energies of the world are equalized. As the earth is renewed, we also think about renewing ourselves – our dreams, our hopes, and our place in unity of things.
We will celebrate in a ceremony involving words, chanting, music, silence, candle lighting, and a candle-lit labyrinth walking meditation. This will be a special event that marks the rebirth of life in spring and calls upon us to consider our own potential for renewal. The celebration will end with feasting. Please arrive by 19.00. The programmed part of the evening will finish by 21.00 but please plan to stay for feasting afterwards.
