Reading Group

The Book Group has been held once a month since 2003 and in that time the group have read a wide variety of material (fiction, non-fiction, poetry).  Regular members take it in turns to choose titles and we welcome newcomers. You must read the book being discussed.  Everyone gets an equal chance to speak. We listen to diverse views and appreciate our different approaches to the books we read.

Meets once a month on Thursdays, 7.00 to 9.00pm. Kensington.

Thurs 22nd May 'I Heard The Owl Call My Name' by Margaret Craven - "a quiet, graceful testimonial to a vanishing way of life - gentle, profound, this is a book that both calms and disquiets, saddens and exhilarates".
 
Thurs 26th June 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly' by Jean Dominique Bauby. an astounding insight into one man's suddenly changed life. A true story told with both wit and aching sadness.  Highly recommended.
 
Thurs 24th July 'Suite Francaise' by Irene Nemirovsky
